The 2024 solar eclipse was an event that many people had gathered together to view, which happened on Monday, April 8, 2024. During this event, the Moon overlaps the Sun. In total, it had only lasted for several minutes, but was extremely bright to look directly at.

Celebrated annually on March 17th, St. Patrick’s Day is spent wearing vibrant green clothing, flashing three-leaved clovers anywhere possible, and indulging in food and drinks. Oftentimes, people become so overcome by the exciting colours and festivities that the true meaning of the feast day is overlooked. In reality, the celebration has deep religious ties that are not acknowledged.

Mean Girls is a new movie musical that modernises the original story everyone remembers so vividly. With some of the original cast reprising their roles and a new cast of mean girls, this movie is definitely “so fetch”! The film premiered on January 12 globally and has received great reviews!

Mariah Carey Impact on Christmas

This iconic line which is connected to Mariah Carey’s “All I Want For Christmas Is You” is a widespread reminder of the approach of the Christmas season. After the excitement of Halloween is over and the clock strikes midnight on November 1st, Carey releases her annual promotional video to let the world know that the time for bright lights, multicoloured decorations, and (most importantly) Christmas music is here. There’s no doubt that this song alone has boosted the festivity each year, but it’s fascinating to look into the feats Mariah Carey has achieved after all these years. ​​

Blue Jays get Swept out of Playoffs

Blue Jays get swept out of playoffs, lose 7th straight playoff game as José Berríos sat in the visitor's dugout at Target Field staring at the infield, his old team, the Minnesota Twins, celebrated their first playoff series victory in 21 years after sweeping the Toronto Blue Jays in a best-of-3 Wild Card series. One could only wonder the thoughts going on in Berríos’ head after he started the game pitching 3+ innings, striking out 5 and completely dominating the Twins in an elimination game for the Blue Jays before being pulled by manager John Schneider for Yusei Kikuchi after a leadoff walk in the 4th in an effort to change Minnesota’s lineup.

Woodbridge Fall Fair 2023

The town of Woodbridge welcomes the Thanksgiving weekend with the Woodbridge Fall Fair on October 7, 2023. People have been celebrating this history-filled tradition since 1847 before winter falls. The Woodbridge Agricultural Society is the one in charge of making this event come to life. They aim to sustain the agricultural history through holding safe family-friendly and educational activities that carry their beliefs (“Woodbridgefair.ca”).

Drake Demonstrates Kindness During His Concert

After notably the most anticipated concert of the month, Drake surprised fans and audience members when he began gifting those in need. He mentions how, during his tour, he has been spreading love and helping people in any way he can (Daniell, “Drake gifts Toronto fans tuition and pays for concertgoer's MS treatment at hometown show.”). Drake gained ample attention from the media because of this and fans across the country pleaded for his help.

The Swifties are excitingly counting down the days until 1989 (Taylor’s Version) will become ‘ours’. Taylor Swift is set to release 1989 (Taylor’s Version) on October 27, 2023. This date of release happens to be exactly nine years since Taylor had released 1989 on October 27, 2014. During the 1989 era, which spanned from 2014 to about 2016, Taylor had been struggling with an eating disorder, which had been revealed in her 2020 documentary Miss Americana.

All cultures deserve to be appreciated and recognized. The month of May is dedicated to exploring, learning, and acknowledging Asian and Pacific Islander Heritage (AAPI). This month is the time to learn about how those of Asian origin have contributed to our history and how they are still contributing to society today. The theme for Asian Heritage month this year is “Stories of Determination” (Government of Canada). This means that this month will focus on all the hardships and how those of Asian origin have persevered through their challenges.

April Fools day is a day of laughs, jokes, and pranks on our family and friends (History.com). It had great influence in the media, therefore, influencing everything around us. It's become a tradition for many to play hoaxes and be cautious of people around you, in case you're the victim of a prank! While historians are still unable to pinpoint the exact origins of April Fools, there have been many theories and predictions made (History.com).
