Lili: How long have you been playing soccer?
Stefano: My name is Stefano Salvaggio and I’ve been playing since I was four years old.

Luca: I'm Luca Campoli and I’ve been playing since four as well.

Allister: I’m Allister Johnson and I’ve been playing since I was like five.
Lili: What’s your jersey numbers and the reason behind that number?
Stefano: I’m number 66, but on the school team, I’m number 3. So, 66 because that was my brother’s jersey number and then he stopped playing, so I took his number. And number 3, there’s not really a reason behind that, the coach just gave it to me.
Luca: So I’m usually number 1, cause I’m a goalie. But on the high school team, I play striker, so I’m number 9.
Allister: For the high school team, I’m number 8, for no real reason. For my actual team, I’m number 19 for Alphonso Davies.
Lili: How do you guys manage school and sports?
Stefano: You just have to use your time wisely and stay organized and balance it out.
Luca: Yeah, I think time management is important, organizing your night, your day. You have to have dedicated times for certain things.
Lili: What would you say is your greatest accomplishment in sports?
Stefano: Probably making it to the semi finals of the OPDL League and going to many tournaments throughout my career.
Luca: Yeah, I would say getting to play for Toronto FC for a couple of years and the provincial team.
Allister: I would say making the Cross team, the senior team in grade 9, and going to OFSAA in grade 10.
Lili: Do you guys feel like you’ve made a difference in the school?
Stefano: In the team or in the school?
Lili: Either one, just anything in the school.
Stefano: I think we’ve definitely made the school team stronger, more chemistry, and brought everybody together. That’s it.
Luca: Yeah, I feel like we’ve been good captains this year. And even starting in grade 9 and we won the league in grade 10. And OFSAA was fun, so I think we brought…
Stefano: We got into the playoffs this year.
Luca: Had good success this year.
Stefano: We made it to the semis, lost in the semis but yeah
Lili: What does it mean to be captains? What do you do as captains?
Stefano: To be leaders, to have a voice on the field, just keep everybody organised and together, set a good example for the whole team
Lili: What do you guys plan to do after high school? What universities or colleges are you looking into?
Luca: I’m looking at playing in the States, division 1.
Allister: Yeah, I’m also looking into the States, D1, D2.
Stefano: Yeah, probably play D1, D2 in the US.
Lili: What would you tell your grade 9 selves?
Luca: I would say to just trust the process, don’t get hung up on setbacks, and just keep your head up.
Stefano: Yeah, trust the process. God has a plan for you.
Allister: Focus more on school, don’t try to just coast through it.
Lili: What’s your favourite memory at Holy Cross?
Stefano: Definitely going to OFSAA with the guys.
Allister: Scoring in OFSAA, in our last group stage game, to take us to the quarters.
Lili: And final question, what are you looking forward to this year?
Luca: Soccer wise, I hope we can win the 6 v 6 tournaments that we have coming up.
Stefano: That’s it.
Luca: High school’s great, so…
Lili: Alright, thank you guys!
