My work that was published. Okay. It was a comparative essay between Persepolis and “Malala Yousafzai’s Address to the United Nations” focusing on women’s rights and how the power of knowledge can overcome ignorance and how the ignorances within our government are used to oppress more specifically women. And so when women rise to knowledge and education it is a threat to ignorance and ultimately a threat to power; because power is mostly ignorance.

Starting Semester Two
By: Maddie Chappell

At the end of the first semester, many students were in the position of writing their first (and some, their very last) exams. After two weeks of stressing for testing, then the 4-5 days of absolutely nothing that followed, a lot of mixed emotions can arise. The first week back after exams can be especially difficult. New classes, new schedules, new people, and most importantly, the school year being so far, yet so close to coming to an end.

Are Exams Helping or Harming Students?
By: Izabella Ferreira Stalteri

At the end of every semester, students are tasked with studying all of the material that has been learned in preparation for their final exams. Although exams have been customary for decades, surveying Holy Cross students has shown that the exam season is one of the largest stressors for students. With all of the stress that students feel, exams may not truly be the best measure of a student’s merit and their overall learning throughout the semester.
